Pastor David P. Russow
Pastor David was first educated in the parsonage of Rev. Howard & Lillian Russow, with his six brothers (3 brothers are pastors, 1 brother is a Lutheran school teacher), and two sisters (1 sister was a Lutheran school teacher). He graduated from Martin Luther Academy, New Ulm, 1972, received a BA from Northwestern College, Watertown, WI, 1976, and Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, WI, 1980. After numerous summer quarter classes through Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, and writing a thesis, Counseling at the Cross – Hopeful Resolve, he was awarded a Master of Sacred Theology from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, 2014.

Pastor David and Kay
Kay Louise Mielke, daughter of Ray and Burnette, of Sleepy Eye, MN, became Pastor David’s wife on July 14, 1978. Pastor David and Kay dated as classmates at Martin Luther Academy, New Ulm. Kay went on to graduate from Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, and, besides being the most patient and loving mother on earth, Kay has used her degree in teaching in Lutheran schools in Morton Grove, IL, Waukesha, WI, Ft. Collins, CO, Spooner, WI, and currently as 5th grade teacher at King of Grace Lutheran School, Golden Valley, MN.
Pastor David and Kay have been blessed with five children:
† Paul Aaron, (married to Mandi, blessed with Anna, 10, and Madeline, 5) of Nicollet, MN. Paul graduated from St. Peter Lutheran School, Ft. Collins, CO, Nebraska Ev. Lutheran High School, Waco, NE, and he and his bride are graduates of Bethany Lutheran College. Paul works for Verizon in Mankato.Mandi works in the Nicollet Schools preschool/day care. They are active in their home church and school, Trinity Lutheran, Nicollet.
† Amanda Kay, (married to Jeff Spoerke) is an ER Nurse at Columbia-St. Mary’s, Milwaukee, WI. Mandy graduated from St. Peter Lutheran School, Ft. Collins, CO, Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, New Um, Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, and Mankato State University. Mandy has done medical missions for the WELS in Malawi and Thailand, and for Doctors without Borders in Nigeria. Jeff, now an RN who served 10 years special ops. (USAF with multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan), and Mandy attend St. Marcus Lutheran and live on the eastside of Milwaukee.
† Joel Andrew, (married to Jill, blessed with Jude, 8, Elijah, 5, Rachel, 3, and Isaiah, 1) of Tallahassee, FL. Joel graduated from St. Peter Lutheran School, Ft. Collins, and he (and his bride) graduated from Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Jill is a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College and taught English as a Second Language in the WELS mission in Taiwan. Joel served as a vicar at Beautiful Savior Lutheran, Summerville, SC, and now is pastor of growing congregation, Faith Lutheran Church of Tallahassee.
† John David, (marrying Ashley Borst, a fellow teacher who is pursuing a doctorate in school administration, on June 10, 2017) is a teacher in Las Vega, NV. John graduated from King of Grace Lutheran School, Golden Valley, West Lutheran High School, Plymouth, Vermillion Community College, Ely, and, the University of MN, Morris. He played college football at VCC and UMM and now is an offensive coach at Western High School, Las Vegas. John’s degrees are in Criminal Justice and psychology which he used as a case worker in St. Paul before a switching careers becoming a teacher. His church home is Beautiful Savior Lutheran, Las Vegas.
† Daniel Peter, (married to Jessica, blessed with daughter, Thea, born Oct., ’16), of Crystal MN. Daniel graduated from King of Grace Lutheran School, West Lutheran High School and from (along with his bride, who holds a Doctorate in Audiology) the University of MN, with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Ascension Lutheran of Plymouth is home church.
