Sunday School

Sunday School

starts up again

Sunday, September 13, 2009
10:15am – 11:30am

It’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. Time for back to school and back to our routines. It’s also time for Sunday school!

Hope's Sunday School is for children entering Pre-K through 8th Grade.  We ask that you complete the registration card to confirm your commitment to bring your children to Sunday school and to help us plan for the classes.

Pre-school children should be age 3 by September 1st, 2009 and potty-trained.

Parents have the primary responsibility for the Christian training of their children.  Hope’s Sunday School was established to assist you in meeting that responsibility.   This is a team effort and you, the parents, can help by:
·      Bringing your children to Sunday School every week and to any other Sunday School activities.  Please bring your children so they are in class on time.  Also, remember to supervise your own children until the teacher arrives.
·      Helping your children learn their weekly lesson, memory work, hymn verses, or any other special lessons they may have.
·      Making sure your children make up any lessons and memory work when they are absent
·      Supporting the teachers by showing a genuine interest in your child’s progress
·      Regularly attending worship service and Adult Bible Class.  These demonstrate how important it is to grow in God’s Word, whether you are a child or an adult.
·      Above all, praying for the growth of your children in learning the truths of God’s Word.  It should be the prayer of every Christian parent that their children come to know that Jesus lived, died, and rose again to atone for the sins of all people so we may have everlasting life with him in heaven.

Please contact Debbie at 763-370-2457 or hopesacts@hopeluth.net with questions.

Sunday School Mission

Hope's Sunday school mission offerings for 2008-2009 will go to "Adopt an Orphanage". For more information on this WELS World Mission, go to http://www.wels.net/cgi-bin/site.pl?2601&collectionID=687.

For 2008-2009, we are trying something a little different. Each of the Sunday School students will have their own box of offering envelopes. They will bring their offering in the envelope and put it in the offering plate during the worship service. We will not do a separate offering collection during the Sunday school opening.

Any adults wanting to support to the Sunday School mission are invited to do so. Please place your offering in the offering plate and clearly indicate that it is for the Sunday school mission “Adopt an orphanage”. Your offering will be added to the Sunday School offering and sent in the spring or when we have gathered a sum of funds, if sooner.

From Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sunday School Handbook:

"Offerings are collected from the children every Sunday. Each fall, the Sunday School staff and students choose a mission to receive their offerings. They are encouraged to give faithfully in order to learn to give regular gifts back to the Lord in response to His redeeming love. We believe this promotes good Christian stewardship principles among our children that will be with them for a lifetime. The offerings that are gathered are then sent to the chosen mission in May."
